Woman fatally struck by train in West Garfield Park

A man was found unresponsive April 26, 2021 at the Red Line station in Lake View.

About 12:10 a.m., the 42-year-old fell of the CTA Blue Line platform in the 500 block of South Pulaski Road, and was struck by an oncoming train.

A woman was killed Tuesday morning after she was struck by a train in West Garfield Park on the West Side.

About 12:10 a.m., the 42-year-old fell of the CTA Blue Line platform in the 500 block of South Pulaski Road, and was struck by an oncoming train, Chicago police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not yet identified the woman.

Area Four detectives are conducting a death investigation.
