The teenage girl is believed to be between 14 and 16 years old, according to the FBI.
The FBI has released photos of an SUV wanted in the abduction of a teenage girl in downstate Peru as local police were scheduled to provide an update of a case Tuesday afternoon.
The girl, believed to be between 14 and 16 years old, was taken just after 5 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Plum and 7th Street, according to the FBI.
Witnesses reported seeing two men force the girl into a vehicle and heard screaming.
The FBI released images of the vehicle Tuesday, described as a white pick-up truck with a “topper,” possibly a Ford Excursion.
Authorities also released images of a pink tie-dyed sandal found in the area of the incident.
This was an isolated incident, according to a statement from local police.
The Peru Police Department is scheduled to hold a press conference on the case at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI at 312-421-6700 or reach out directly to local authorities.
