A 61-year-old man who was injured in a crash in May in Little Village has died.
Salvador Avila was pronounced dead at 3:50 p.m. Saturday at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
He was injured in a crash weeks earlier on the Southwest Side.
Avila was riding a motorcycle about 2 p.m. May 22 in the 2700 block of West Cermak Road when he was struck by a Cadillac that was making a left turn, Chicago police said.
Avila was taken to Mount Sinai in critical condition at the time, police said. An autopsy found he died of complications from his injuries and ruled his death an accident, the medical examiner’s office said.
The 49-year-old man driving the Cadillac was issued three citations, police said.
