A 31-year-old woman has died after being attacked by a person with a knife Saturday afternoon in the Loop, according to Chicago police.
The woman was walking about 4 p.m. in the 400 block of South Wacker Drive when she was attacked by a male who pulled out a knife and stabbed her in her upper back, according to preliminary information from police.
She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Her attacker fled south and had not been taken into custody, police said.
A spokeswoman for CPD’s Office of Communications said she could not provide a description of the male suspect.
The attack happened about a block from Willis Tower in an area that also includes the Old Chicago Main Post Office and Union Station.
Area Three detectives are investigating.
