Tom Anzalone earned Fish of the Week for catching a muskie from an unexpected spot.
Rich Anzalone asked the ageless question that applies to some fish, “Wonder how it got there?
This after his son Tom caught and released a nice muskie from a pond in the southwest suburbs on July 20.
“[He was] fishing for bass with a frog lure,” Rich emailed. “It broke his pole while reeling it up to shore.”
A surprise fish like that, especially with a nice muskie, with a story like that (not sure which part I love the most) deserves a full-length photo.
FOTW, the celebration of big fish and their stories (the stories matter, as this one shows) around Chicago fishing, runs Wednesdays in the paper Sun-Times. The online posting here at https://chicago.suntimes.com/outdoors goes up at varied days of the week, depending on what is going on the wide world of the outdoors.
