Bulls' Alex Caruso Enters COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols

Alex Caruso enters COVID-19 health and safety protocols originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

Alex Caruso has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols, Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan told reporters after the team’s Wednesday practice.

Caruso is the 15th Bulls player to enter protocols this season (17 including Ersan Ilyasova and Stanley Johnson, whose 10-day contracts have expired). Two Bulls coaches have also entered: Donovan and assistant Josh Longstaff.

Caruso has missed the Bulls’ last six games with a left foot sprain, but appeared to be nearing a return before entering protocols. Donovan told reporters before Monday’s 102-98 win over the Magic that Caruso needed only to face live contact before being cleared to return.

Now, that return will be pushed back. Caruso will remain in protocols for six days, or until he can produce two negative PCR tests within a 24-hour span.
