Suspect in attack of jogger sought by suburban police

Police in suburban Downers Grove were searching for a man suspected in the battery of a jogger on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

At approximately 2:59 p.m., police responded to Brookbank Road between Maple Avenue and 55th Street for a report of a jogger who was approached by a man who grabbed her hips, police stated. The victim, a 46-year-old woman, screamed, and the man got back in a vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect, who was said to be in his early-to-mid 30s, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and had short black hair. He was wearing a navy blue t-shirt with “SAS” in white letters on the front and back, black paints and bright white Nike Air Max shoes, police said.

The suspect was driving a dark gray four-door sedan with a silver emblem on the back. Anyone with information or video surveillance of the suspect was asked to call Downers Grove police at 630-434-5600.
