In each incident, three burglars used a saw or grinder to cut through the walls or roofs to enter a business, Chicago police said.
Police are warning residents of two recent burglaries reported at businesses in Rogers Park and Avondale on the North Side.
In each incident, three males used a saw or grinder to cut through the walls or roofs of a business, Chicago police said. Once inside, the males use a similar tool to open the safe and take money from inside, police said.
The men are in the closed businesses for 4 to 5 hours while working to open the safe and leave through the entrance, police said.
The first incident happened between about 10:20 p.m. and 5:50 a.m. March 14 to 15 in the 3500 block of North Kedzie Avenue, police said.
The second incident happened between about 10:45 p.m. and 4:50 a.m. March 29 to 30 in the 6600 block of North Damen Avenue, according to police.
Anyone with information on the burglaries is asked to call Area Three detectives at 312- 744-8263.
