The 15-year-old was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle about 7 p.m. in the 1500 block of West 71st Street when he heard shots and felt pain, Chicago police said.
He was shot in the hand and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition, police said.
No one is in custody as Area One detectives investigate.
