A woman was driving near Channahon and Hollywood Road when she veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a pick-up truck, Joliet police said.
A 6-year-old boy and a 27-year-old woman have died following a crash Wednesday night in suburban Joliet.
The woman was driving a sedan near Channahon and Hollywood Road when she veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a pick-up truck, according to Joliet police.
She and the 6-year-old boy, who was riding as a passenger in the sedan, were taken to Amita St. Joseph Medical Center where they later died, police said.
Two girls, 7 and 12, also riding as passengers in the sedan, were taken to Silver Cross Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 48-year-old man driving the pick-up truck was taken to the same hospital but later flown to Loyola Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
