The man was driving in the 2000 block of North Ashland Avenue when he struck a center median and was partially ejected from his vehicle, Chicago police said.

A man died early Monday after he was partially ejected from his vehicle in a crash in Bucktown on the North Side.

The man, between 25 and 30 years old, was driving about 1:55 a.m. in the 2000 block of North Ashland Avenue when he struck a center median and was partially ejected from his vehicle, Chicago police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not yet identified the man.

Police believe the vehicle was traveling at high speed before striking the median.

There were no other people in the vehicle, police said.

Area Five detectives are investigating.
