On Wednesday, a CTA train operator was hospitalized after two teenagers beat him while a train was stalled near the Garfield station.

Two men were shot during an attempted robbery near the Garfield CTA Red Line stop Friday afternoon on the South Side.

The men were on the sidewalk about 12:42 p.m. in the 200 block of West Garfield Boulevard when two people approached and demanded their shopping bags and personal items, Chicago police said.
