A fugitive wanted in a Chicago shooting from earlier this summer was arrested and charged this weekend.

According to Chicago police, 59-year-old Jaime Santiago was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service in Kissimmee, Florida on Friday.

Santiago was identified as a suspect who shot and injured an 18-year-old woman in the 2600 block of West Crystal Street on August 24.

According to Chicago police, the suspect got into a verbal altercation with the victim in the case and opened fire, striking her once in the abdomen.

She was hospitalized, according to police. Another 19-year-old woman who was present at the time of the shooting was also targeted, but was not struck by gunfire.
