WWE's Elimination Chamber event coming to Chicago's United Center

For the first time in decades, a WWE premium live event will be held in Chicago city limits, as the 2026 Elimination Chamber event will be held at the United Center.

The announcement was made by the company Thursday, marking the first time since SummerSlam 1994 that the organization has held one of its premium events in the city of Chicago.

Previously, the Allstate Arena in suburban Rosemont has held nearly every WWE event in the Chicago area, including WrestleMania in 1997 and 2006, Money in the Bank in 2018, and Survivor Series on multiple occasions, including in 2023.

Promotional materials for the event were centered on CM Punk, a Chicago-native who currently holds the company’s World Heavyweight Championship.

Superstars like Cody Rhodes, Stephanie Vaquer, Jey Uso, Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley are also featured on the official poster for the event, which will take place Saturday, February 28.

The Elimination Chamber event is typically the final PLE before the yearly WrestleMania show, which will be held in Las Vegas in 2026.

The Chamber itself is a large steel structure that has four pods that superstars begin the event in, with two competitors starting the event. Competitors then enter the chamber at pre-determined intervals, and the winner is the person to make the final pinfall within the structure, according to WWE’s website.

In recent years, the winner of the Elimination Chamber match has earned the right to challenge a WWE champion at WrestleMania. Bianca Belair captured the victory in Toronto during the 2025 event, while John Cena stole headlines after he won the men’s Elimination Chamber by pinning CM Punk, then turning “heel” and attacking Rhodes at the conclusion of the evening.

Ticket information will be released at a later date.
