What time is the Opening Ceremony for the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics? Here's how to watch

The Opening Ceremony for the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics is just days away. The highly anticipated event officially kicks of the 2026 Olympic Games, though several events will actually start before then.

As the 2026 Games and the Opening Ceremony nears, here’s when it takes place and how to watch.

When and what time is the Opening Ceremony?

The Opening Ceremony, at Milano San Sire Olympic Stadium, begins on Friday, Feb. 6. Live coverage of the event starts at 1 p.m. CT and is expected to last three hours.

How to watch the Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony will air live on NBC and stream on Peacock and NBC Olympics platforms. It will also be available to watch on those platforms in primetime, starting at 7 p.m. CT Friday.

Who is performing at the Opening Ceremony?

Several international artists have been confirmed to appear at the Opening Ceremony, including Mariah Carey, Golden Globe winner Laura Pausini and famed Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, award-winning actor and producer Pierfrancesco Favino and The White Lotus’ Emmy-nominated star Sabrina Impacciatore.

When do the Olympics officially begin?

The first Olympic events begin on Feb. 4, with alpine skiing and curling. Ski jumping, snowboarding, figure skating and ice hockey will also kick off before the official launch of the Games.

The first medals will be awarded starting Feb. 7. The Games will continue until the Closing Ceremony on Feb. 22.
