Hundreds of thousands of jugs of water distributed to Illinois and Wisconsin are being recalled after it was found the water was “bottled under insanitary conditions.”
According to a Food and Drug Administration Enforcement report, Valley Springs Artesian Gold of Portage, Wisconsin initiated the bottled water recall Feb. 6. In total, more than 650,000 bottles were recalled.
Several different bottled water products are part of the recall, the enforcement report showed, including pure water, steamed distilled water and water with added fluoride meant to be used for infant formula.
The bottles were only distributed to retailers in Illinois and Wisconsin, the report said. No further details about the recall were provided.
