Chicago police were investigating after a man was pulled from a body of water on the city’s Far North Side, authorities said.
At around 7:23 a.m., officers responded to the area of the North Shore Channel, along Virginia and Foster avenues, for a marine distress call. A 52-year-old man was removed from the water by Chicago Fire Department personnel.
The man, who was unresponsive, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A death investigation was underway pending autopsy results.
The man had yet to be identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office by Saturday morning.
