Taylor Swift returns to her country roots in an original song for ‘Toy Story 5'

Taylor Swift is releasing a brand-new original song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” for Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 5,” which arrives in theaters on June 19.

The 14-time Grammy Award winner announced that the new track will be released on June 5, following weeks of speculation from fans.

The theories began on April 30 when Swift’s website briefly displayed a “Toy Story” themed cloud countdown. The countdown was up for only 10 minutes, but it was enough time for Swifties to start speculating.

By the end of May, fans began spotting billboards featuring the “Toy Story” franchise’s signature cloud backdrop with the letters “TS” written in yellow.

Disney and Pixar fueled discussions further by posting pictures and videos of the billboards on social media paired with Taylor Swift lyric captions.

By this point, fans were confident in their findings.

Swift confirmed the news on Instagram, saying in her caption, “you knew it!”

Disney’s press release announced that the song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” marks a return to Taylor Swift’s country roots, inspired by the character Jessie.

“Toy Story 5” follows Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest of the gang as they face a new, timely enemy: Lilypad, a tablet.

Lilypad threatens the other toys’ cherished playtime, highlighting the modern rise in tech.

The movie includes original cast favorites and some new faces, like Conan O’Brien, Matty Matheson and Bad Bunny.
