Chicago Bears injury updates: Luther Burden, Darnell Wright back in practice

The Chicago Bears are preparing for their final preseason game against the Tennessee Titans, and they got some good news on the injury front Wednesday.

As the team went through its final workout at Halas Hall before traveling to Nashville, wide receiver Luther Burden III and offensive tackle Darnell Wright were both on the field participating in workouts as they try to prepare for the regular season.

Burden has been dealing with a groin issue during training camp, and he was seen doing individual workouts as his teammates gathered for the Wednesday workout.

The second-year wide receiver is hoping to build on a solid rookie campaign, during which he hauled in 47 catches for 652 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Chicago.

This season he’ll be stepping into a void left by the trade of DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills, and he’ll hope to get more action as he teams up with Rome Odunze, Colston Loveland and other pass-catchers for the team’s potent offense.

Speaking of the offense, Wright was back on the practice field just one day after leaving with what appeared to be an elbow injury. According to multiple reports, Wright appeared to be favoring the same elbow he injured last season when he tore a ligament during the 2025 campaign. He played through the injury, and is hoping to have a healthier 2026 season, though he’s still wearing a brace on the elbow.

Wright recently signed a four-year extension with the Bears worth up to $116 million, with $93 million in guaranteed money according to reports.

It’s unknown whether Burden or Wright will be on the field for the Bears when they participate in a joint workout with the Tennessee Titans on Thursday, with a preseason game set for Saturday as both teams wrap up their exhibition slate.
