Victim robbed at gunpoint on University of Chicago campus

One person was robbed at gunpoint on the University of Chicago campus Friday night, authorities said.

At around 10:15 p.m., several members of the university community were walking on the sidewalk in the 800 block of East 55th Street near South Cottage Grove Avenue when they were approached by two unknown people. One of the individuals was armed with a handgun and demanded property from a victim before fleeing the scene, police said.

The incident remains under investigation by the University of Chicago Police Department.
