A serious crash on a southwest suburban highway shut down the roadway for hours on Friday as police investigated.

Around 11 a.m., a crash that left people injured took place on the 23000 block of Governor’s Highway in University Park, authorities said.

As of 2:30 p.m., Governors Highway was shut down between University Parkway and Dewey Avenue in University Park as police investigated.
