White Sox Game 2 lineup released as they look to clinch series

The Chicago White Sox will try to sweep the Houston Astros Wednesday, and they’ll roll out a similar lineup to the one they used in a Game 1 win.

Behind a strong leadoff performance from Sam Antonacci and a big home run from Colson Montgomery, the White Sox took down a 6-3 win in the series opener, and they’ll look to finish off the American League West champions on Wednesday in Houston.

To that end, manager Will Venable is using the same nine players in his lineup on Wednesday, albeit with one small change, as Braden Montgomery and Chase Meidroth flipped places in the lineup, with Meidroth now batting seventh and Montgomery in the eighth spot.

Randal Grichuk will once again be available off the bench for the White Sox, having picked up two hits on Tuesday after coming in for Andrew Benintendi later in the contest.

Here is the team’s full lineup:

1 LF Sam Antonacci

2 C Kyle Teel

3 3B Miguel Vargas

4 1B Munetaka Murakami

5 DH Andrew Benintendi

6 CF Tristan Peters

7 2B Chase Meidroth

8 RF Braden Montgomery

9 SS Colson Montgomery

They’ll be sending pitcher Sean Burke to the hill, who led the White Sox with 11 wins and a 3.34 ERA this season. He will be opposed by Astros starter Hunter Brown, who had a 6-4 record and a 3.19 ERA, along with 124 strikeouts.

First pitch is set for just after 4 p.m. in Houston, with the game airing on Peacock and NBCSN.
