A video that shows an unidentified homicide suspect running across a Chicago street in broad daylight while holding a long gun in 2022 was released by police on Friday as their search and investigation continues.
Police said the man in the video allegedly shot and killed someone around 10:41 a.m. on May 3, 2022, on the 3700 block of West Chicago Avenue in the city’s Humboldt Park neighborhood.
The man can be seen running across the street, through a massive puddle and down the sidewalk before firing shots and running away.
It was not immediately clear why police waited several years to release the video. Police advised people to alert family and friends who live in the area and save a copy of any surveillance video for detectives.
Anyone with information is asked to call police detectives at 312-746-8252 or submit an anonymous tip online at CPDTIP.com using reference number JF228530.
