An 11-year-old boy from Chicago’s western suburbs died after a tree fell on him at a scout camp in western Michigan, MLive reported.
The boy was walking on a trail on Thursday at Owasippe Scout Reservation in Muskegon County when he was struck by a falling tree, sheriff’s deputies told the news agency. Deputies said the boy was from suburban River Forest, but as of Saturday, his name hadn’t been released.
A death investigation remained underway.
