Three Chicago secondhand stores are among the most saved in the country, according to a list on Yelp.
A description for the list on Yelp says searches for tailoring, restoration and repair of vintage items have spiked and indicate a “growing investment in restoring and caring for thrifted finds across clothing, furniture, and even bridal items.”
The list is a culmination of 25 of the all-time most-saved stores in the flea market, thrift, antique, used, vintage and consignment categories on Yelp, with a ranking influenced both by number of saves and ratings of reviews. Only five businesses per state were allowed to promote geographic diversity.
The Chicago spot with the highest ranking on the list is no. 7: Knee Deep Vintage, located at 1219 W. 19th St. in Pilsen.
Reviews for Knee Deep praise their prices, selection, fitting room size and staff. Out of 152 reviews, Knee Deep lands at a 4.3-star rating.
Then, coming in at no. 16 is Kokorokoko, located at 1323 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Wicker Park. It describes itself as a “shopping destination for hot 80s and 90s vintage clothing and accessories.”
Out of 84 reviews, Kokorokoko has a 4-star rating.
The last Chicago spot to make the list is Shangri-La Vintage, located at 1952 W. Roscoe St. in Roscoe Village.
Open since 1992, Shangri-La has a 4.6-star rating out of 66 reviews.
“We have a nice selection from the 1950s to the 1990s. Older Vintage available on occasion,” Shangri-La’s ‘about’ section on Yelp says.
